Analysis of the Environment Committee's response to Local Government Submissions

Has Select Committee responded to the concerns of local government when considering resource management reforms?

FrankAdvice demonstrated technical expertise, independent analysis and narrative reporting skills to deliver independent advice for submissions analysis work commissioned by Local Government New Zealand.

Tasked with assessing to what extent the Environment Committee had considered the perspectives of local government, this piece of work involved the thematic analysis of over 50 written submissions from local government to the Environment Committee’s Inquiry on the Natural and Built Environments Bill.

At the second Select Committee stage in 2023, FrankAdvice was again contracted by Local Government New Zealand to review a sample of submissions, to assess the extent to which the points made in submissions were addressed by the Select Committee. FrankAdvice summarised the submissions, analysed the recommended changes made to the Bills, and assessed the extent to which the recommendations reflected the submission themes.
